Why we do what we do

When my grandmother was targeted by financial fraud, the savings in one of her bank accounts disappeared. Nobody in our family could get her to try a new phone or switch banks. So I sat with her, went slowly, and we did it together. Today she has a new phone, a safer bank and her very own email address.

That's when I saw how many older adults are one scam call away from losing everything, and how few people have the patience to teach them. Boxed By Bre exists to break that box, the wall between you and the technology that runs your life.

About me

I work in cable and internet, helping people over the phone get their TV, internet and apps working. I've seen what happens when the technician is in a hurry to get to the next job: you're left with a new box and no idea how to use it. I don't leave until you do.

Giving back

I'm a neurodivergent founder, and giving back is built into Boxed By Bre. Starting November 1, the business gives $100 every month to a local adaptive fitness program, so a family who couldn't afford classes still gets them. Chip in with me

    A three-way call with your carrier. You stay on the line and give the OK. Bre never asks for your passwords or date of birth.

Help make technology kinder.

Student volunteers
and internships

High school and college students can earn community service hours by helping Bre build lesson guides and class materials, one to two hours a week. We especially welcome young women interested in tech. Every volunteer is carefully screened, and volunteers don't handle client devices.

    Old phones, laptops, tablets and TVs. Bre takes them for free, and can pick them up from your home.

  2. Your data, gone

    Bre backs up what you want to keep, then wipes the rest. Want some money back? She can help you sell it on Facebook Marketplace instead.

  3. A second life

    Retired devices go to local art students and, starting in 2027, to students in our high-school internship.
